Tree Planting & Environmental Sustainability Programme — Edo State Polytechnic, Usen

SEAFA's Director led a major horticultural and environmental initiative at Edo State Polytechnic, Usen, aimed at greening the campus and protecting students, staff, and the wider community from the impacts of climate change. The multi-year programme helped reposition the institution as one of the best-kept campuses in Nigeria and included several linked initiatives: a two-day capacity-building workshop for staff and students on climate change, global warming, and deforestation; the formation of a campus cultural group promoting environmental protection and sustainable practices; the establishment of the Center for Natural Product Research (2022) to advance research into natural and environmental products; the founding of an environmental club focused on energy conservation, climate action, and food security; the installation of climate-resilience equipment; and a collaboration with GOIMT on maritime and aquatic exploration.
